Hi everyone, we’ve had many people asking when we are going to close and the truth is, we don’t know! We are planning on staying open in one form or another all summer but we are unsure what that will look like at this point.
We will switch to operating 3 days a week at some point and we will let you know on Facebook and here when we make the change.
For the moment we continue to operate Tuesday thru Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm so come on by and get your favorite drink or a bag of coffee!
A couple weeks ago some of you had the chance to meet four guys who were hanging around the cafe taking a break from their epic journey: bicycling from Joshua Tree, California to Patagonia, Argentina.
We found Alex, Brad, David, and Robert hanging around the Melaque square and invited them to stay with us. We have traveled a bit in our time and once you start that wandering bug never quite leaves your system; we might have been living vicariously through them…
They left us and continued on their way South but they have a blog for those of you interested in following their journey. We should also let you know that, in our humble opinion, these are four great guys. While they were with us they were helpful, polite, wonderful with our kids, and all in all, genuine in their positive and fun-filled attitude about life. It was refreshing and inspiring for us to see. We also discovered that they are broke. If you are interested in supporting their dream and their mission, you can contribute to their adventure via their webpage, www.pedaltopatagonia.com. Safe travels, guys, and godspeed!
Come by and enjoy a piping hot cup of coffee with us this morning! We are open in spite of the storm outside. We don’t have much seating but we do have fresh muffins and espresso! Open 8 to 1 pm.
Once again we will be hosting the Bergmans and Harmonica George! Friday night at 7 we will have live music, wine and beer for purchase, and lots of room for dancing. Check out the last one:
You don’t want to miss it!
Greetings all! We will be closed on Friday, February 27 because we will be in Guadalajara at the ExpoCafe! Check it out and if you love coffee and coffee related gear it’s the place to be this weekend.
Don’t forget to place your order for coffee before you head North! Email, call, or stop in and let us know and we will roast it fresh and package it up for you – it’s your job to fit it in your suitcase!
Our 250 gram coffee bags make excellent gifts for your friends and family back home. Artisan roasted Mexican coffee.
So many of you have asked and we have listened! Our coffee is now available for purchase at Artisanik Pazifico in La Manzanilla, located beside the book store on Playa Blanca street. Along with hand crafted jewelry, rugs, recycled clothing, and original paintings, you will find our dark and medium roast packaged coffee. There is a grinder available as well, so you can pick up whole beans or grind it on the spot. While you are there, be sure to have a chat with Mabel, the beautiful and energetic owner and operator of Artisanik Pazifico.
We enjoyed an awesome night of music and friends last Tuesday! The Little Bird Band, made up of friends from different states and provinces, only plays when they are together here in Mexico. This is their third year playing at La Taza Negra and, as you can see, it was well attended!
The band requested that all proceeds from the event be sent to the Hurtados, a young couple working to better the lives of a marginalized indigenous group in Huitzachal, San Luis Potosi, in central Mexico. Enough money was raised to purchase materials to tile the floor of a clinic that the couple operates in Huitzachal. Thank you for your contribution!
You know where you can get coffee in 2015!
